Broom Owners Club

Share your stories in Sweeping Statements

We are looking to create a number of stories for possible use in future Sweeping Statements. We are of course still accepting all your latest news you would like to share, but would also like some which could be used in future specific features or even regular features.
For example:

What made you buy your first boat, possibly with a photo of that first boat, and maybe with a photo of your current one if you have since changed boats.

  • Any interesting refurbishments or changes you have made that have improved the amenities on the boat and/or added to its value.
  • Who or what made you join the Broom Owners Club, and is there an interesting story behind it.
  • Have you had any particular event on your boat that, with hindsight, you have been able to laugh about? What about it could be considered a learning curve.
  • Your favourite recipes whilst afloat, any tips or advice on how to cook tasty meals in a small galley, or how best to provision for a longer journey?
  • Any interesting stories where another member has gone above and beyond to help you in some way.
  • Any favourite spots that you might want to share with fellow boaters.
  • Have you re-named your boat, if so why? Do you have a story behind the name of your boat?
  • What is the funniest thing you have seen another boat and crew doing, and where.

Don’t worry about writing a perfect article as it will all be checked and edited if necessary, so don’t feel that you have to be an expert author to contribute! We would just love to hear your stories or any interesting information and advice that you would like to share with the club, so please send any articles you may have to the Editor at editor@broomowners.com.

TIPS – please send your articles in Word format, also ensure that all images are in JPG format at as high a resolution as possible, otherwise they may be too grainy to print.

Any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to hearing from you!
Jo Moore
