Haslar South Coast May Rally
A record breaking 10 boats gathered on the visitors’ pontoons in Haslar marina, joining 5 berth holders for the 12th – 14th May BOC rally. The gathering of so many Broom boats was certainly an impressive sight.

The rally commenced on Friday evening with a pontoon party. In true British Bulldog spirit, the group wrapped up warmly and made light of the strong, chilly wind. Jan and Warwick Morgan (Sea Viking) served their renowned rum punch which went down a treat! Despite the challenging weather conditions, the party provided an enjoyable opportunity for BOC members to catch up with friends old and new.
The Harbour trip
Saturday afternoon saw everyone assembling for a boat trip around Portsmouth Harbour on one of Solent Cruise’s Jenny fleet. The Captain provided informative, interesting commentary and the sun shone throughout the afternoon making it a very enjoyable experience.

The quiz!
Immediately after the boat trip the group split into 8 teams (with a maximum of 4 people on a team) for a Mystery Voice quiz. This was billed as a ‘fun’ quiz but it gradually became increasingly competitive! All the teams scored well with the team comprising of Jill Reynolds (Lady Malvina), Stephen and Liz Izatt (Blue Angel) and Paul Homer (Dutch Courage) winning by 1 point with a very impressive 19 out of 20. The team was presented with coveted(!) Broom Owners Club Quiz Champions mugs.i

Saturday Dinner at The Creek
