South Coast Bembridge Event, June 2022
The South Coast region’s first on-the water rally of the season was at Bembridge, Isle of Wight over the weekend of 10th-12th June, where dredging of the harbour has taken place to accommodate rallies. Some of those who hadn’t managed to bring their boats, joined by car. Unfortunately, the mother of Tashia Scott, (South Coast Co-ordinator) had died and Tashia had gone to Canada to sort out affairs. Gill Oldham stood in to help organise the event. We were pleased to see new and “old” faces and Gill extended a welcome to us all. Whilst there was quite a wind outside, we were safely inside the Duver Marina’s marquee, complete with its new gas BBQs. We had a very enjoyable time, with certainly one member successfully bbq-ing for the first time! Thanks also to members Martin, Beverley, Warwick and Jan for providing numerous bottles of beer and Prosecco that helped us to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
