Western Region
My name is Keith and from mid-2021 I’ve taken on the role of ‘Western region representative’. My boat is currently moored on the River Severn at the Tingdene marina located in ‘Upton-upon-Severn’.
I’ve had my own boats on the Severn since 2012, although my experiences on the Severn began when my age was still in single digits! Pottering about in an 8-person dinghy my dad designed and built himself. I’ve had my Broom 33 since May 2018 and am thoroughly enjoying cruising the River Severn, Gloucester & Sharpness canal and down into the Bristol Channel. I’m happy to share my experience (such as it is) and enjoy cruising in company, so feel free to contact me regarding either.
Although geographically the Western Region is fairly large, there currently aren’t all that many Broom boats in the region who’re members of the BOC. (There are a number of Broom Boats about though!) Hence in the future I’d love to see BOC membership in the Western Region increase and have some organised activities both on land and afloat.
Keep an eye on the events calendar for the region and please do contact me regarding any BOC activities you’d like to see organised in the Western Region – after all, the BOC is for you!
