Mermaid Marine Engines
The primary suppliers of engines for members boats over 20 years old are Mermaid, Perkins and Volvo for which a contact list has been prepared. This list for each make is in two parts.
Part 1
The first part is based on information / suggestions / recommendations supplied by members which form the basis of a good network for future spares and service. Inclusion in this section is open to any appropriate service or parts organisation or service engineer who is recommended by a BOC member. Prior to inclusion proposed Part I entries are contacted to confirm the range of services on offer, their scope of work and details of any discounts or other benefits available to BOC members.
Part 11
The second part is the official engine manufacturers dealer network for the British Isles which is updated annually following the London Boat Show. If members have used official dealer’s services and wish to make a recommendation through the “comments” column, please contact me with the detail.
When enquiring about parts and spares it is imperative that you have the engine serial number and preferably the date of manufacture to hand as there may be minor variations to each particular type of engine due to the length of the time they were in production.
In addition to Mermaid’s own engine range, Mermaid Marine are able to offer parts and service for Ford Lehman and Ford Sabre engines.
