CENTRAL REGION

The Central Region covers the East Coast, from Berwick to Lincolnshire, along with the rivers Humber, Trent and Yorkshire Ouse. Although the majority of our members are based in York, Goole and Newark, we also have some in Lincoln, on the Humber and in Newcastle.

Although social events are usually based around the three main centres we will always consider other opportunities as they come along. So, if you own a Broom boat and are moored or considering moving here then please contact us.

I’ve been boating from a young age when family holidays were spent on my father’s boat after which I enjoyed dinghy sailing as a substitute.

So it was a proud moment when Jo and myself bought our first boat, a Broom 37 ‘Serenata S’, from Newark Marina in 2022. Our first season was spent on the gorgeous River Trent – a really enjoyable time, albeit a steep learning curve contending with locks, low bridges, etc. Serenata S is now based on the Norfolk Broads, however we have fond memories of the Central Region and I am keen to give support to members in the region.
