Welcome to the Broom Owners Club

Do you own a motor cruiser built by C J Brooms or Broom Boats of Brundall, Norfolk, UK?

If so then this is the club for you; irrespective of size, age or build material. All are welcome.

The club is managed by a central committee and the membership divided into geographical regions organised by Regional Coordinators or Representatives, depending on size. We have members across the British Isles and mainland Europe.

The regions organise events for those who enjoy cruising and socialising whilst elsewhere in the members section of this web site is a forum for exchanging technical knowledge. The latter is backed up by an extensive library and technical documentation. We also publish a magazine twice a year with a variety of cruising and technical articles.

For details of membership and application forms please visit the Join the BOC page.

A bit of history!

The BOC Martin Broom Memorial Trophy – Martin Broom MBE (June 1934 – October 2013)

CJ Broom was established in Brundall in 1898 and helmed by Martin Broom MBE from 1964 until he retired in November 2010. He led the Company’s pioneering development of hull construction from wood to fibreglass, with all the design benefits this brought. His insight and enthusiasm resulted in the range of Broom boats that Club members enjoy today. He was also very supportive of boating and the boating industry– as a member of the Norfolk Broads Authority for 30 years, and a leader of the British Marine Federation, (including a two-year stint as Chairman of the International Boat Shows).

In 2004 Martin lent his support to the formation of the Broom Owners Club as a non-profit-making organisation open to all Broom boat owners. To mark his contribution to boating and his role in its formation, the Club awards an annual Memorial Trophy to the BOC member that has made the most significant contribution to promoting Broom boating.
