Thames Region hosts the 2019 AGM Weekend 18th – 20th October.

We have booked the De Vere Beaumont Hotel, Old Windsor SL4 2JJ for this event.

Situated in 42 acres of park land, the estate dates back to the 14th century and was originally known as “Remenham”, after the land owner Hugo de Remenham. Over time, the estate passed through various owners and was possibly best known as a Roman Catholic boarding college from 1861 to 1967. After the school’s closure, the buildings were used as a training centre until 2007 when they were acquired by the Principal Hotel Company who carried out an extensive refurbishment programme. Further investment was made in 2017 to create the estate buildings that guests use today.

As well as enjoying the hotel’s lounges and restaurant facilities, we will be holding our Gala Dinner in the stunning Chapel that dates back to 1870 with its fully restored stained-glass window. Throughout the weekend, guests will also have full use of the gym complex, including tennis and squash courts, and an indoor heated swimming pool.

The De Vere is ideally situated for a visit to Runnymede as well as to Windsor and Eton and we are planning to arrange a boat trip to and from the hotel into the town. For those wanting to travel further afield, Hampton Court Palace is approximately 17 miles away by car.

More details about the weekend will be published in the Spring edition of Sweeping Statements and on the BOC web-site. But in the meantime, please put the dates in your diary. We look forward to welcoming you to the Thames Region in 2019.
