The annual Eastern Region Rally took place again this year, brilliantly organised by Jane Neale. A record 26 boats turned up and on the Saturday we were treated to free cocktails by Pedros Restaurants, so generous, followed by a BBQ. Rain on Sunday did not deter us from the usual tea and cakes in the afternoon and a dinner was held in the Waveney Hotel later with entertainment by a mind reader. Spooky. We have booked for next year.
The next event will be a guided walk by Keith and Carole Rowe on Sunday 7th October. Please contact them for further details. The Christmas party will go ahead on 1st December. Details to follow.

Rally organisers Beverly and Martin Briggs (on board Dacelo and accompanied by Eddie McDonald) and Rosemary and David Lyth (on board Balayette) cruised to Poole on Wednesday 13th, taking full advantage of flat calm, sunny conditions. On Friday 15th they were joined by Elizabeth and Alan Fuller (on board Blue Blood), Laurie and Anton Bates (on board Slipaway) and Sarah and Steve Dean, (on board More Magic and accompanied by Georgina McMasters); the latter 2 boats having to negotiate ‘lumpy’, windy conditions en route to Poole. The 5 Broom boats looked mightily impressive, all moored on a dedicated pontoon. Special thanks to Alan Fuller for arranging moorings in such a prime position in the marina.
As Poole Quay Boat Haven is located in the heart of the town, everyone was able to wander along the quayside and/or stroll around the shops in the afternoon.
In the evening, with the sun shining brightly, the group gathered for pre-dinner drinks and nibbles on the pontoon prior to the short walk to Da Vinci restaurant where everyone enjoyed delicious food in a lively, friendly atmosphere.
